Thailand Creative & Design Centre

Design is not just about style and inspiration. Throughout history, the design process has been conditioned by the social, political, economic, geographical, and religious contexts and factors.

The TCDC is located on the 6th floor at the swanky Emporium Shopping Centre in Sukhumvit (opposite the movie theatre). The building has a fantastic library on-site and access to the library is the same price as a movie ticket. The benefit here is access to some books which cost a fortune normally.

Additionally the TCDC holds regular exhibitions and the latest is titled Living under the Crescent Moon – domestic culture in the Arab world and is well worth visiting to see how little understood the Middle East is by many people.

If you are interested in design, and also in need of a brilliant library which doesn’t have the stuff atmosphere included, then head on down to the Thailand Creative & Design Centre. Oh and word on the street is that it’s a good place to meet attractive people :0)

Don’t know much about Art or Design, but there’s definitely some attractive people lounging around there.
