Classical Music – Here We Come!

After having a lot of trouble trying to find a suitable concert for Baba and I to attend, I was pretty excited to find that there is a performance by the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra on July 30th and I’ve already got the tickets! Joy of joys!

Now the only obstacle remaining is that I don’t know the dress code at events like this in Bangkok and I don’t want to look like a dirty dish-cloth amongst the sparkling crystal… I hope it’s good because I do like Brahms, but I don’t know a lot of Sibelius… I wonder if there will be many other farang there…

Does anyone know? About the dress code thing I mean.

EDIT #1: I’ve just noticed July 30th is this Saturday too – Woo hoo!

EDIT #2: Oops, I forgot to mention the tickets themselves, which I think are very cool. They’re not your regular crappy throw-away paper tickets, these are like credit cards with all of the concert and our seating information printed on them. I hope the ticket people at the venue don’t try to take my ticket from me, because I want to keep it without embarrassing Baba by causing a commotion and being dragged out by the rough-necked security (probably the cellists).

it would most likely be somewhat formal–though not exactly black tie or anything like that. there’ll be a lot of farangs there, i’m sure. enjoy!

Thanks very much for the information! I can’t decide if the reason I want to know if there will be many farang is because I might like to talk to them or to NOT talk to them :)
