I would suggest that a fundamental problem with bangkok metblog is that it is read by more non-residents of bangkok than it is by residents, i.e., the people you need.

Another problem is that on the author application page (here it states quite clearly that applications from people who DO NOT maintain a blog already are not needed, thus cutting off a whole section of potential writers, even if this is flexible, it is not going to be seen as such.

Finally there is perception. Subversive. Manned by Expats. And so on. It can easily be alienating to the source of potential authors that is needed: Thais.

see now i would join up but i dont have a blog. also, i wonder about the possible success and future because lets face it you have a whole bunch of authors and they dont post.

shouldnt there be some rigid structure in place to keep people posting, after all its a commitment isnt it?

Well if the other cities manage to do it, so can Bangkok. We just need to get off our arses. I mean we were doing good, so no reason why we can’t get back to it.

id go with sacking a load of authors. a big author list and no posts looks worse than a small author list and a relatively good number of posts. maybe people would be inclined to join if it didnt look like 80% of the authors cant be arsed. noone wants to join a dead club?

It’s good to see Bangkok is listed in the Metblog. Not sure if I fit the
rules but if you could send me details at kameja@gmail.com, I’d appreciate it.
