curly fries, bangkok bank, clothes and tatler

i remember when there used to be an arby’s in central plaza when i was back in 5th grade, it’s long gone now. i still remember it because they used to serve curly fries.

it might be because i don’t get to eat fast food so often, or that i just don’t notice it, but there’s a lack of curly fries in this city. honestly, the last time i had curly fries in bangkok was when i went to the great american rib place on sukhumvit 36.

the last time i had curly fries ever was when i drove down to hua hin, stopped at a jet petrol station and bought a small box of curly fries at the pathetic a&w outlet.

today, however, as i was waiting for a friend at the silom centre building, i popped in to the mcdonald’s and to my surprise, i found out they were selling curly fries there. they call it twister fries. apparently it’s the chinese new year’s promotion. or something.

i feel a little retarded. getting excited over curly fries.

in other news, the main bangkok bank has sent about 20 people down to phuket to help khun ying pornthip compile a database of the dead. i’m not too sure how that’s gonna work out.

and the bangkok city tower building on narathiwas and sathorn (opp from standard charter) is still taking donations of clothes to give to people up north, so that they won’t freeze to death.

and tonight, is the thailand tatler party.

The Wrap-It food kiosk near the Tops in Central Chidlom not only serves curly fries, but they also have tater tots and these delicious cheese potato thingies they call Munchers. Their gyros are pretty good too.

I remember that Arby’s. I remember going to eat there and with my family and I thought my mom said that her friend (who we were with) owned it. Is the A&W still there?

Don, your memory is far better than mine. I don’t recall an Arby’s here at all. A&W is still around, though the one at Central Lardprao is gone
