    and lets not forget the fact that… the thais… look… fucking stoooooooopid dressed up like this. i thought middle class white kids in the uk dressed like this were the biggest joke, till i got out here!

    it’s an image that requires a certain attitude, a certain way. there needs to be an air of attitude, of fuck-you, of taking no shit and of, i hate to say it, at least believing you are “tough”.

    almost a good example is Thaitanium. These maintain the look and to a good degree the attitude. Why? Because, as Thai as they wannabe, they are mostly born and raised in the USA.

    maybe the dj’s keep playing kriskross (god i remember that from 91 and, btw – KK recorded “Jump”, House of Pain recorded “Jump Around”) because they are the only “rap” group with the closest image to the thai wanna-be’s.

    when i see these groups hanging round, my instinct is to point and laugh, they remind me of toy figures in a shop, almost characatures (sp) of the “real thing”.

    Whoops. I meant jump jump but they never fail to play both at the clubs.

    They could potentially play it off, if the guy’s weren’t skinnier than the girl’s I date. Thai guys can be pretty psycho when it comes to territory.

    But either way, they over do it.

    Oh, no, sorry – I have to disagree here. There is simply no such thing as a thai man who can look like a problem / tough / threatening / any of that. The closest you get are the motodrivers :D

    I have to leave out all the armed forces as well because anyone who insists on uniforms that tight can never be scary!

    I don’t know what part of Thailand you have been living in him, but i have seen some plenty scary thai guys.

    I live in Bangkok and have been around Thailand and seen no scary people – compared to, say, malaysia, indonesia, vietnam, cambodia, china, hongkong, england, germany, america etc etc etc (not Laos, no, not ever, ever Laos). Of course, I have no doubt that some thais can be scary, just that they don’t manage it image-wise.

    The PM, for instance. Now there’s a scary mofo.

    But he’d look dumb in a basketball shirt, baggy jeans, cap, gold and nikes.

    there was a shooting recently, in front of escudo. guy a was aiming at guy b, but shot guy b’s girlfriend dead instead.

    but i suppose that it can happen anywhere in the world.

    i suppose if you hang around in siam square all day youre bound to not see any ‘scary looking Thais – image wise’.
    there are hip hop wannabes everywhere you go though. but i honestly believe wiggers look a lot stupider than any thai guy ive seen.
