Try As We Might

Regular readers may recall Baba’s post about trying to find a resource on classical music concerts. The good news is that, since asking, she has found somewhere and we had set everything up to go, but then something happened. The concert we planned to attend was delayed from February to March. No problem, we thought.

When the March date drew near, the concert was delayed again, this time until May! I started to get worried at this point and now that May is drawing closer I have a feeling that either the concert will be delayed yet again, or cancelled altogether.

We started investigating this in January and now it is nearly May, with the number of concerts we’ve managed to attend – ZERO! Not a good start at all.

This particular concert we’re talking about had been finally scheduled to the 4th May… and guess what it’s been rescheduled. The date unknown. Apparently their excuse is that they’ve been swamped by the coming showing of Aida tomorrow.

But you know, they’re underfunded, understaffed… so it’s no wonder. Infact it’s amazing that DO they manage to put concerts on and operas even if it is haphazardly.

If I had more time, I’d love to volunteer.
