And now a word from our sponsor

While I am generally not impressed with Thai programming content, every once in a while some ad agency will come up with a truly astounding, absolutely hilarious commercial. thanks to a friend, I finally managed to find a link to one of my favorites from Krung Thai Bank.

Anyone know of any links to others? I would love to get ahold of the innovative ones done for Spy wine coolers.

That is a hilarious commercial. I know the Spy adverts you’re referring to, they’re having another run at the cinema before a film.

I like the one for the glasses where the taxi driver is looking back, staring at this olderly woman wearing glasses, who is dressed as a school girl.

our rival agency did those spy commercials, the won so many creative awards for that. funny part is, spy’s sales dropped after the commercial. and spy dropped that agency. hee hee.

i have a lot of ads around, i ‘ll try to see if we have anymore of the spy ones.

Not impressed with Thai programming? How about Gamer’s Zone – that’s grrrrrrreat! :-)
(Disclosure – Gamer’s Zone is a TV show produced by a friend of ours. It’s actually kind of dumb)

Isn’t Gamerzone the show that Him watches religiously?

No, ben, that’s Cybernet – it’s a US / UK (not sure which) games reivew show that’s been around for years. For those that don’t know it’s on UBC Series, Sundays, 7:30pm. It’s pretty rubbish, but it’s the only games show I know out here.

Talking of adverts, has anyone seen that excellent one at the cinemas right now, with bangkok all snowed under for christmas? Hilarious and incredibly well done – can you imagine if this happened, though? Its for Jonnie Walker whisky, I think.

Oh yes, I’ve seen that one. It was surreal to watch it the first time because it’s such an extreme from the reality of Bangkok. It should win an award.
