Good Thai Food…

Want somewhere new to eat? Try Saparos – Sukhumvit Soi 23, about 6 minutes walk down the soi – excellent place, Thai food, nicely decorated – you can really sit back and relax here (and it’s also a Thai bookstore) and great value – average price is about 60B for a one-dish meal. The red curry is… one of the best I have had.

It seems to be a growing trend to combine the bookstore/library concept with the sit down restaurant. I came across one not too long ago that had an extensive library of Japanese-style manga, so that restaurant patrons could read while ther waited for their food, or while they enjoyed a coffee & dessert afterwards

I forgot to mention that, like many Thai places, you can get “spagetti” in this place. It is spagetti as westerners will know it, but fried in oils. In this particular place it is good with chicken / basil leaves and chilli. Slightly more greasy and oily than you’d expect from pasta, but still good.
